It's almost here!

Well actually there's still two months left but hey time goes by so fast that tomorrow, for all we know, it's already our wedding. So for now we are set with our cake. My sister and brother-in-law offered to help us with our wedding cake. So we have to scratch that from our to-do list. Well actually we "proposed" it to them and they gladly accepted. We wanted them to have a special part in our wedding and not only to be a part of the entourage. Which brings us to our Tip for the day (I guess), ALWAYS ASK FOR HELP. Wedding is a very special day and most people wanted to be a part (whether big or small) of it.
To help you better understand, our Wedding Event Coordinator is a very good friend of ours. She is also helping Jags with the design and all that stuff. We have also utilized our entourage. From sending out RSVP to calling people. We have also asked some of our (inner circle) friends, to be part of the program as ushers, a special photographer and even to drive Jags and her family to the wedding location. They are willing to help as long as you ask them.
And that way, since you have delegated works to your families and friends, your stress level will be low. It is evident that Jags stress level is very low. I've seen it myself. (Because basically if her stress level is high, I would be the first one to experience it.) Wedding is suppose to be fun and special. So have your families and friends be part of this very fun and very special event, OK!

3 Months! Save the date pictures!

Wow, how time flies by so fast. In less that three months, the big event will unfold. We will start to hand out our "Save The Date" cards for confirmation. Altogether it may very well have cost us less than 30 dollars.
Since we had our engagement photos done already, we chose three pictures out of the many beautiful ones and edited them with texts like the one posted here. Each picture is approximately three megabytes in file size so we weren't sure if it will look good once printed. We decided to do a trial print at Walmart. Boy, was it ever nice. It came out really good. And it was really easy to do and really cheap. Now it made us ponder if we should just do our own invitations. We went to Michael's today at lunch and found some good deals for invitations. We wanted to do a trial run and bought a 12-piece invitation package for $2.99. Apparently we can save up to 50% according to Michael's. We'll see.
Oh speaking of invitations. The reason we are sending out "Save the Date" pictures is basically for our guests to RSVP. Upon receipt of confirmation will they only received invitations and reservations for how ever many people. Sort of an insurance so we can save on invitations and know exactly how many people and attending.
If you need help in creating such save the date cards/pictures let us know and we'll gladly help you out.

Four Months to go!

Exactly four months from now, our lives will be changed forever. We will be opening not just a new page but a new chapter in our lives. Judith and I have both celebrated our last birthdays as single people and last June 15, 2011 (as heartbreaking as it was because our beloved team - the Vancouver Canucks lost the Stanley Cup Finals) we celebrated our final "Boyfriend-Girlfriend" anniversary.
As for the wedding, we are currently working on a few details. The stress has not gone high yet and hopefully we can keep it at a minimum. We still have to work on things like dj, cakes and the likes.
But on the bright side, we have just finish shooting our engagement photo courtesy of Wayne Lam. And boy was it fun. Judith started with some hair and make-up from an upcoming make-up artist named Starry. And Starry did a very good job. Her make-up was not too heavy. Just enough to accentuate Judith`s beauty. Wayne started to take documentary photos as well. nd for our shooting location, Wayne chose Coal Harbour as our location and man was it a good choice. Days prior, the weather was quite gloomy but thank God, He heard our prayer as the day of the shooting the sun was smiling brightly. Though we our feet was tired but it was all worth it. We will try to post some photos next time.

Found our Official Photographer

Hello World! It has been a while (Almost 5 months actualy) since the last time we made a post. In any case we are excited to finally have an official photographer. Let me just tell you that we really did our research here. You see, we have made it clear that there will be a few things that we will not try to cut short. Photography is one of them. Although honestly we were looking for an inexpensive but unique photographer and we have found just that.
Introducing, Wayne Lam of Fantasy Wedding Photography. What sold us to this guy really was his passion for his work. We've contacted many photographers, some of them we talked to over the phone and others emailed us back but we haven't met anyone as passionate as Wayne. Although he had so much to say, he was keen on listening to us as well. In addition, we have browsed so many wedding photography websites and only a few images from all of these websites got tuck away in the corner of our minds. One said photo is of Wayne. Check the website and you'll know what we mean.
When we met up with Wayne for an initial meeting at starbucks, he was carrying with him his office basically. He showed us his hard-covered albums and photos on his Ipad. He even showed us his gears and boy those were some serious gears and pro cameras. And that was when we realized that he was serious and very passionate about photography and capturing our wedding moments beautifully and uniquely. We just had to sign him up but we didn't do that yet as there were still a few photographers that we needed to meet and inquire and we want to be fair. So off we went. But remember that one photograph that got stuck in our mind? We can't really get that out of our head. So we contacted Wayne after a week or so and signed him up at the same starbucks.
So now we figured we have to lose weight. Wayne maybe an excellent photographer but he can only do so much. We have to work something as well. Hehehe. Eat right and exercise daily. We can't wait to try Wayne's skills on our engagement session sometime this summer. We'll keep you posted. God bless.

Official Wedding Location...

As was mentioned in our earlier posting, location is one, if not the most important item in a wedding. Couples should make sure that they have to scout a location and book that location as early as possible (which also means that a wedding date must be settled asap). It would be heartbreaking (especially for the ladies) to have finally found the perfect location but unable to reserve it because the place was already booked. And believe us some good places get booked years ahead.

Our tactic, which may help couples out there as well, was to start looking for our location as we decide on the wedding date. This way we can hit two birds with one stone. We made sure that we call possible locations and ask for appointments. And since there are a slew of good locations out there, we had to have a criteria to help us narrow down our choices. Those who reply within a day gets our attention first. So just as we were on the verge of deciding our date, we made an appointment to have a visual of a place that Jags was starting to really like. So we went and that was it for her. The place that we went was the perfect place for her.

Now, as the other entity in the party, I told her to keep her options open as we may still find other good places. But as the saying goes ...... I actually don't have any saying but anyway we went the first time and she fell in love with the place. When we went the second time, she wanted to seal the deal already but I was still hesistant. I was just trying to be "practical". But of course, I crumbled under her mesmerizing eyes and we sealed the deal with Swan-E-Set. Good thing because from what Tegan (the wedding coordinator and a very sweet and nice young lady) showed us, 2011 was getting filled. (By this time we already had settled on a date). Good thing the date (October 21, 2011) that we wanted was still available. So now our "location" has been ticked as "done". We will post some pictures that we have taken of the place and post some thoughts as to why we chose the place.

The Official Date!

It is with much pleasure and joy to announce that we now have an official date for our wedding. We have been praying and discussing as when our wedding date will be for months. And we thank God for we have finally arrived at a perfect date. The Official date of our wedding is **drum roll** is October 21, 2011. It is going to be on a Friday at 4 pm sharp as in sharper than a samurai sword. Picture, golden brown leaves falling of a Birch tree as the majestic snow-covered coastal mountains serve as our backdrop. (Which coincides with the motif that Jags has prepared). Cool autumn breeze caressing Jags' long flowing hair as she walks down the long walkway towards the terrace. Oh man, I can't wait... Wahooooo!!!

CompleteWeddings.ca

JAGS and I, have been working on our wedding plans and indeed we have made progress. We have contacted most of our principal sponsors and talk to a few people that we need to help us out. More about that on our next post. Currently, our main concerns are the video and photography for our big day. We know that there are tons and tons of good video and photographers out there, so we need to have a starting point and this website www.completeweddings.ca has been very good. The website has extensive lists of vendors from bachelor parties to cakes to scrapbooks and of course video and photography. The list of photographers, specifically, is still overwhelming but the good thing about this site is they list all vendors that have websites first. And from there, we just look at websites and list (or copy and paste if you will) the vendors that we like. We also made sure to look for websites that has at least pricing (investments for some) information on them.
Now the next thing for us to do is to start contacting these vendors and see where it will lead us.
